Established in 1999, it has transformed rural education through experiential learning. Small classes, holistic development, and strong community support help first-generation learners thrive academically and personally.
Over past 25 years, the school has empowered more than a 1000 children, shaping confident youth who pursue higher education, meaningful careers, and community leadership.
Why It Matters
Without intervention, these children would likely remain trapped in a cycle of poverty and illiteracy. Education here isn’t just about learning — it’s about changing life trajectories.
The Vision
Satsang Vidyalaya enhances capability of a first- generation learner from a fringe community to join the mainstream society for a lifetime of opportunities and dignity. Satsang Vidyalaya means many things to the first- generation learner:
- A place where their basic needs for nutrition are met (a mid-day meal, nutritious snacks and regular heath check-ups ensure that the children are in good physical health)
- A place where they are treated with dignity and respect (teachers are like mentors and there is a close relationship between students and teachers)
- A place where they imbibe skills that enable them to get gainful employment that would help them and their entire families overcome poverty
