The Aviral Godavari Mission
Aviral Godavari is a collaborative mission to rejuvenate India’s sacred river through watershed management, rainwater harvesting, and ecological restoration. The initiative has rejuvenated 8+ ponds, constructed 25+ watersheds, and saved 3.5 lakh litres of rainwater from runoff. It also plants saplings in catchment areas to protect biodiversity. The vision is to ensure a perennial, pollution-free Godavari, with milestones like making the Nashik Kumbh 2027 a plastic-free event.
Why It Matters
Rivers are lifelines for millions. Protecting Godavari ensures water security, ecological balance, and cultural continuity.
